Traditional Kerala House

Here's the picture of a typical traditional kerala house. The big veranda, the tiled roof, wood pillars and wood ceiling has stamp of typical kerala architecture. The open courtyard gives an air of invitation, a place for kids to run & play.

In Kerala many such Nalukettu houses are now open as home stays. It gives you first hand experience to live the old traditional life, know the life of our ancestors. Many owners in Kerala open their traditional family house for tourists.

Here's a beautiful Nalukettu house owned by renowned film director, script writer, and producer Adoor Gopalakrishan.
